Prof. Ming Fang

Biography: Graduated in 2011 from Hokkaido University, Japan, with a Doctor of Engineering degree in Systems and Information Science. Professor, recipient of the 18th batch of Jilin Provincial Government Allowance, and Jilin Provincial Top-tier Innovative Talent. Research interests encompass image processing and computer vision, with ongoing in-depth investigations into image fusion, object tracking, underwater image processing, video jitter suppression, and appearance defect detection in industrial and agricultural sectors. Head of the Machine Vision and Robotics Laboratory; Member of the Human-Machine Fusion Intelligence Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence; Vice Chairman of the Jilin Robotics Society; Vice Chairman of the Jilin Artificial Intelligence Society; Council Member of the Jilin Image and Graphics Society; Recipient of the Changchun ‘University Civilisation Cup’ Outstanding Individual Award; Outstanding Communist Party Member of Jilin Higher Education Institutions. From 2000 to 2007, participated in projects including Hitachi Medical's Diagnosis-Treatment Integration System, Hitachi ACCOUNT System, and the National 863 Laser Communications Project. Currently leads one national-level project, one Ministry of Education Academic Information Centre research project, and three enterprise/institutional commissioned projects. Recipient of one First Prize, two Second Prizes, and one Third Prize in the Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards; one Second Prize in the Provincial Educational Technology Achievement Awards; holder of three national invention patents; author of three academic monographs in computer vision and over 50 published research papers. Teaching responsibilities include Computer Image Processing, Principles and Techniques of Machine Vision, Image Processing and Machine Vision, Pattern Recognition, and Object-Oriented Programming.



Prof. Jianping Gou

Biography: Jianping Gou received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China, in 2012. He was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with The University of Sydney. Now, he is currently a professor and doctoral Supervisor in College of Computer and Information Science, College of Software, Southwest University, Chongqing, China. His current research interests are artificial intelligence, pattern recognition and machine learning. His research has resulted in more than 140 publications on top-tier journals and conferences, including several best paper awards such as ACAIT and ISAIR best paper awards. He served as a Section Editor of Recent Advances in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, a Guest Editor of Mathematics, a Guest Editor of Frontiers in Physics, and Editorial Board of Mathematics. He is also a Senior member of IEEE, a Senior member of both CCF, and a Senior member of CSIG.
